Marshfield Area Community Foundation Continues to Make Grants that Enrich the Quality of Life in our Community
Marshfield and the surrounding area have a reputation for being a caring community that is very generous in helping those who have need. The mission of the Marshfield Area Community Foundation is to “connect people who care with causes that matter to enrich the quality of life in the Marshfield area. We respond to the needs in our community through our Community Grants, Senior Grants, and the Women’s Giving Circle. We have given back over $3.8 million to our community in the 20 years we have been helping our community.
This year ten groups submitted grant requests, asking for over $18,500 in funding. Our Board of Trustees has voted to fund the following projects with the Community, Senior, and Women’s Giving Circle Grants Programs:
Boy Scouts– $500 for Science Technology, engineering and math activities.
Central Chamber Chorale -$300 Commission music to honor Dr. Joe Ousley.
Clark County Bookworm Project- $500 Provide books for children.
Companion Day Services -$500 To provide materials for a safer environment.
Friends of Mead McMillan Wildlife Center- $500 to provide signage at the center.
Keep Kids Warm-$15,000 to help provide warm coats, mitten, snow pants, and boots for all children in the Marshfield area.
LuCille Tack Center-$500 Salsabrosa performance at the 2014 Cultural Fair.
Marshfield Area Parent Network- $1200 Sponsor parent dinners to hear about issues of concern to parents.
Marshfield Area United Way– Loads of Love Program -$1,080 To provide funding to help the disadvantage be able to wash their clothing.
Marshfield Area United Way– Nutrition on Weekends Program $2,000 to pilot a program to provide food to children who need it on weekends.
New Visions Gallery- $900 To transport area to students to see exhibits.
Palm Sunday Choir-$300 for music notation.
Personal Development Center- $1700 to provide educational materials on dating abuse for teens.
